Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Chiara @TheyCallMeCCV

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a student at University of Ragusa; I’m studying Foreign Languages. I’ve lived my whole life in Messina, a city known as “the door of Sicily”, but last year I had to move in Ragusa for my studies. In fact, I’m studying a language that wasn’t available in Messina: Standard Arabic. Ragusa is a beautiful city, too: it inspires me as a photographer and writer.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Usually I post about my life, what I do and – most importantly – what I see. I think it’s important to valorise the beauties of Sicily, also because most of them are hidden.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

A few years ago I had to choose a new nickname for all my accounts. I don’t know how exactly I came up with “theycallmeccv”, but since people actually call me Chiara C. Venuto that’s fine!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Usually I don’t edit my photos using the apps on my phone. If the photo is pretty great or I took it with my reflex camera, I transfer the picture to my computer and I edit it with Photoshop.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love darioruglioni’s work. But I think the instagrammer which inspires me the most is enver_archangel – what he does with colours and shadows is amazing!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Have fun! I know sometimes you will want to increase your audience and that’s hard, but don’t make instagram become a “stressing job”. If you don’t feel like posting anything that’s okay!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I would love to inspire people to travel and look at the things from different perspectives. I don’t know if I’ve already managed to do that – but I would love it!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be funny, be original, valorise something good. I’m authentic because everything I say is true, I don’t fool people.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Sometimes you’ll want to be as great a someone else – as famous as someone else. I understand that. But you’ll be able to do that only if you stay original. You can’t copy someone else’s work – that won’t help you grow. Be yourself – that’s what people want.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Brands give you the chance to take special pictures for them. I love everyone who lets me take new pictures, so… 😉
