Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Cheong Jia Sheng @Jiashengphoto

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently studying in Republic Poly, year 2. I am a Singaporean.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I like to take photographs especially portraits, and also to explore Singapore. I usually post portraits of my shoot.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It came about when i saw my photography friend putting the word “photography” behind his signature, so i thought it will be cool to create one too. Together with his help, my logo and Instagram name is formed.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually use Lightroom, but at times Photoshop; to create a specific feel to fit the theme i have in mind. I start by uploading my photos to Lightroom, adjust the exposure and brightness, afterwards using my own preset that i have created.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really like Alessioalbi photos (https://www.instagram.com/alessioalbi/), he inspired me as his concepts and editing styles are very nice! I get my inspirations from around Instagram explore page, as long as it is interesting.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They should really try being in touch with their followers.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Being able to expand my connections to more people, working with them and also reaching out to my followers.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Brands should not aim to get their brand recognized by sponsoring many influencers. They should focus on sponsor influencers in the same niche. They should also have influencers try out the products (unless it’s food) for a while before doing a review on it and maybe request before and after thoughts etc.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

My advice will be that one must not copy and use other people content such as photograph, unless permission is given personally by themselves. The quality is there as long as the message is brought across to the followers.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like collaborating with new brands and finding out what is offered in the market so that I can recommend to my followers the best choices. I also like to be able to wear their product out. (eg. watches)
