Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Cat Lin @fortwoplz

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am a food lover and adventure-seeking traveler who is constantly creating fun moments to make life worth living. Born in Taiwan and raised in Malaysia, I was intrigued at an early age by the natural beauty, cultural differences and various cuisines around the world. Over the years, my passion for trotting around the globe has brought me to different parts of the world, including New York City, Tijuana, Palau, Seoul, Palawan, Bangkok and many more. Currently, I lives in Calgary, Canada, working as a social media strategist. When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring hidden culinary gems and less-explored destinations around the world with my husband.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My passion is in food and travel. I focus on both topics equally.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It echoes the name of my blog, For Two, Please. I created it to capture my food and travel journey with my husband.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My photos are first edited in Adobe Lightroom. Then, I use Color Story app to apply a filter to give them a more consistent look.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Too many to list. @littlemissbento, @taramilktea, @lichipan, just to name a few. I would say @girleatworld inspires me the most, with her lively spirit and adventurous journey!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Snorkeling in the Philippines. Powdery sand, crystal-clear water, pristine coral reefs – how could you possible resist?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Connect with like-minded people and showcase the lesser known path & exotic food to them. It makes me feel mission accomplished when I heard people telling me “I never knew that – I’m going to put that on my list!”

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

1) Show the followers the fun side of using your product/service. 2) Tell them how the product/service has helped you in your daily life. For me, I maintain authenticity by making sure that I use the product/service myself before posting about it. When I post, I write about not only the things I like about it, but also the features I wish it has incorporated.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Make sure the picture and caption is composed from your point of view (not from others). Followers are looking for something unique, not another copycat post.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Collaborating with brands provides an opportunity for me to discover what’s new out there. It helps me stay on top of the trend 🙂
