Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Brooklyn Gregory @Bookish_Brooklyn

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a high school student from Australia and am trying to create a career for myself in photography

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post about books and anything ‘bookish’. However, I do also love horses and art.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Most people on Instaram think that I live in Brooklyn but my name is actually Brooklyn! I thought BookishBrooklyn was a cool name because of the alliteration but it was taken so I put the underscore in to make it Bookish_Brooklyn.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually don’t edit my photos too much. When I do, I use photoshop to remove any spots and change the brightness and contrast.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Hayaisreading is one of my favourite Instagram accounts! She is such a lovely person and her photos are just gorgeous!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Seriously, if you don’t have photoshop, invest in it! I use it for everything! Even if it just removing a pimple from my latest selfie!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love being able to share my interests with all my followers! They get as excited as I do over new books or new bookish products!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Make sure you follow through with sponsoring someone or sending them something to review! I’ve had so many companies pull out of sending me stuff for review because they thought I lived in Brooklyn USA and when they found out I lived in Australia they stopped communication. It’s honestly so disheartening and it pretty much makes sure that I won’t buy your product.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

If I see someone advertising a product and their photo is bad quality I instantly turn my nose up, I may sound like a snob but that’s just how it is.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love being able to share my favourite brands with my followers so hopefully they’ll end up loving them as much as I do.
