Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Brendan Lee Jun Jie @eel_nadnerb

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m Brendan, currently 18 this year, I’m studying in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and currently pursuing a diploma in business studies. I have a passion for filming and designing.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I really like going overseas and vlogging, sometimes I post my travels and sometimes I post little snippets of my life. I really like to take perspective shots and aesthetics, but I’m not really good at it.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I was deciding on a really cool name, something that was different. I tried using different variations of my name, but it sounded weird, so in the end I tried spelling my name backwards and since then, I have never changed it.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Vsco to edit my photos. I really like dark coloured photos, I normally use HB2 filter and decrease the exposure, I also like to decrease my saturation.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like fashion bloggers and local influencers, I like how they dress themselves and give a glimpse of their life. I don’t really inspire to be anyone, because I want to be my own instagrammer, and inspire others as well.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Get out of your comfort zone and do things that you don’t normally do! Enjoy yourself during that process as well

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I think it’s about playing an important role, by being able to inspire and to influence people, not to do negative things but to do greater things.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Show them who you are, don’t be something you’re not. Get straight to the point as people don’t like it when you beat around the bush. Engage the followers as well!

To maintain authenticity, keep your close friends close to you, ask them to help you keep you in check. Constantly remind yourself why you started being an influencer and what’s your purpose of posting pictures.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is very important to post picture of original content as it shows people that you are genuine and that you don’t copy from others. Posting quality pictures is important as well, as it shows that you place effort to take quality images to show your followers. Sloppy works just show that you don’t put in the effort.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It gives me the opportunity to be exposed to new things everytime! It helps me gain experience, as well as help me with my interpersonal skills!
