Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ben Weaver @the_london_list

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a London based writer with an interest in fashion and design. I studied architecture as an undergraduate at Cambridge and so I prefer a classic clean aesthetic and honest, simple pieces.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post mainly about men’s fashion, architecture, design and of course ever day life in London. I’ve lived here eight years and there’s always something new to see or do.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I wanted something simple and catchy that reflected my interests and lifestyle, the challenge is coming up with something that hasn’t already been taken!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only ever edit photographs via Instagram, I’m don’t really have time for excessive photo-editing as I lead a pretty busy life.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

When it comes to fashion bloggers I love Alessandro Squarzi and Scott Schumman. Also I find Pierre Yovanovitch and David Leppann a constant source of inspiration.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Only one? Currently I have a thing for Byredo, really interesting and innovative fragrances. Their candles are also amazing!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I have a strong sense of my own personal style, and if people can take something from that then it’s a wonderful thing. I only ever promote things I genuinely love, and my Instagram account is a reflection of that. Keep it simple, classic never goes out of style!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be honest and don’t try and be something you’re not, people we see straight through it. If you’re launching a luxury product, that’s great, if not, don’t pretend to be. Something simple and considered often has far more of an impact.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I would say quality is key, after all I think very few of us can claim to be entirely original. Sometimes when striving for the “original” a brand can end up with too many bells and whistles. Keep it simple and know your audience.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I partner with brands that I’m genuinely interested in, I like to know the history and the meaning behind a brand, why that brand does what it does. Those in the creative industries are fascinating people and meeting them is always fun!
