Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Ariana @ArianaDewing

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I live outside Los Angeles & am a ballerina, model, dance instructor and public speaker! I love to share my ever changing life through social media! A lot of my work is done alone in the studio so connecting with others really motivates me to be better.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My most posted pics are of me working in the ballet studio. I try to show each interest, modelling, dance, teaching and public appearances however I know my followers are there for ballet. To be a ballet dancer, you have to be a little obsessive and I can definitely see that carry through with social media.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I decided to just use my name for Instagram so that it’s easy to look me up. I meet so many different people and want to be easily found if they want more information or to take a class, book a private… etc.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

For a while I was using after light constantly but vsco cam is my new thing. I love how bold and classy the filters are!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love the chitwins, balletbeautiful, cuchira, balletrusse… I follow way too many people!! I am constantly inspired by others who sacrifice their life for their art.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try boomerang for a cute selfie w attitude! Musically is cool for dancers also! Stop posting selfies w the snapchat filter that makes your nose smaller…we all know when that filters on and nobody’s fooled FYI ?

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is being able to truly inspire someone to the point of change. My whole life has been about discipline and never quitting. I want my followers to see the beauty in hard work and walk away with confidence and belief.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For running campaigns my advice is, remember what you set out to do. If your goal is to post a photo of the cute bag you got gifted, make sure the bag looks AMAZING and stands out. Don’t put too many filters on because you want to stay true to the color of the bag….you aren’t helping anyone if it’s too artistic and not informative.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Take time in looking at your feed and what it needs before you go out and shoot that cute new outfit…maybe all your photos this week have been in your home and you need to change it up. Your followers want variety within reason. Stay true to yourself but it’s ok to try new things. If it doesn’t work out you will know by the number of likes! I take my own photos for my brand ambassador posts and spend lots of time thinking of the concept, picking the perfect location and waiting for the best time to shoot for lighting purposes. If you want to eventually make money you have to know how to brand yourself!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I grew up not able to afford material things unless it was a total necessity and as a dancer funds are still tight. Connecting with brands gives me to opportunity to try out products I would not normally afford and advertise the benefits to my followers. I love marketing and advertising so I get pretty excited when I think of the limitless possibilities with brands!!
