Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Aneesah Moore @ineedsomemoore

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Aneesah Moore. I’m from Los Angeles, CA. I’m a Lifestyle Writer and Event Coordinator for Happening in DTLA, a Artist Manager (I manage the band The Great Indoors), and Muse. I like to seize the day as best as I can and inspire others to do the same. We only live once.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Topics that I post on Instagram the most are either: Blog posts from Happening in DTLA, new places I stumble across that I find interesting and think others should discover, contemporary, modern or avant garde art, inspirational quotes or sayings, and photos of myself taken by others talking about my day or current mood.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram came about when I decided that it was time to branch out and do more than just Facebook. I like how Instagram is image driven and allows for users to network on a bigger scale, if you know how to utilize it properly.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Some of the apps I use to edit my photos are: VSCO, Squareready and the filters offered via Instagram (my favorite is Juno). When editing photos, my routine is to usually up the exposure, brightness or contrast levels using VSCO, and then I will start playing with the Saturation, Shadows, Highlights, Color balance and debate whether or not I want to use a filter. I like my images to be either in Black and White or Full Color.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

The instagrammers that inspire me the most are actually my friends, such as: JeanClaudeTribe, LolitaBandita, FeralCreature, ImJennIm, and ApneetKaur. They’re all curating vivid and exciting content. It challenges me to push myself even more so I can reach their level.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

One thing my fellow Instagrammers have to try is a day out in Downtown LA. I always like to encourage my users to go out and explore. There are so many hidden gems here in the City of Angels.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

The best part about being an influencer are the people you meet among the way and the brands you get to collaborate with. I love networking and meeting new people. You never know who you’ll meet. Every day and meeting could lead to new doors of opportunity.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Some of the top tips I’d give to brands for running campaigns is to stay true to your identity. Branding is everything, it’s the first thing people see. It’s like meeting someone for the very first time. How do you want to impress them? Every post that you make should depict how you want others to view you. If you’re posting something that’s not authentic, it will show.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

When it comes to the importance of quality and original content, my advice would be to brainstorm ideas, seek inspiration, and then make it your own. Be original. Don’t be a carbon copy. We already have enough of those.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

What I like best about partnering with brands, is having the opportunity to get more acquainted with their product, showing others how I like to utilize it, and being able to either be the face or brand ambassador. Brands use influencers for a reason, because we’re able to get a message across in a personable way that most advertising agencies lack in.
