1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
As a young couple based in New York, originally from India, we started FoodYatra to share our passion for culinary delights – food, coffee, cocktails, booze, chocolate etc. around us and discover what interesting innovations are happening in the food space and promote the creative ways companies are undertaking.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
Our topics range from all things food, coffee, cocktails etc. Recently we have started to indulge into subscription boxes. Fashion, Lifestyle & Beauty might be next for us – but all things tie back to food in some way 😉
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
foodyatra was something that struck us. it is combination of 2 words – "food" and "yatra" (an Indian word in Hindi language which means – the journey).
So, foodyatra could be considered as "a journey to have/seek/explore/indulge in food"
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
We began with only using Instagram edits initially to cater to our needs. We have started using Snapseed from past few weeks and we really love it!!
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
We love some great foodbloggers and people who go above and beyond for that perfect shot/ content. We really feel home cooks/ people with passion for food are heros – no matter the amount of popularity or following they might have.
We are really inspired by @teekhi_mirchee and @foodbabyny
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Looks like "starngage" might be that 1 thing! At present, we believe one thing people can try is being fearless in what they experiment with to create more engaging content. Run short tests and measure what works and what not to rapidly expand.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
The best part is the joy of telling people a wonderful story on how great a product is and sharing the specifics of it.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
The best way is to be yourself. Individualism is as appreciated on Instagram as much as a big company with professional designers. People want to see you and want to hear your story / thoughts.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I think that is the heart of everything. As we said, the more personal and authentic, the more people resonate with it and engage.
We do want to say that every once in a while, it is great to share/ repost the content you find in Instagram that you really love and appreciate. This gives a great feeling of being part of and respectful of other members in the community who deserve credit.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
The best part is being able to help a brand drive the necessary reach and the feeling of being accountable or part of their success story.
