Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Amy Benavides @Amybmua

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello! I’m Amy Benavides and I’m an aspiring makeup artist. I’ve loved makeup ever since I was younger and I hope for it to be a part of my future career. I’m currently studying as a full time high school student. My weekends consist of band competitions and doing makeup for others that have parties and special events. Makeup started becoming a passion for me when it had merely started as a hobby. That’s when I decided to create an Instagram page for my looks. I love to share my looks for everyone else to see and possibly be inspired by.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest include hair and beauty. However I’ve mostly been posting about makeup products and brands. I post the makeup looks that I create on myself and other people.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is simply my first name and the first letter of my last name, hence ‘amyb’. Then the ‘mua’ simply stands for MakeUpArtist.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mainly use picsart but every nowadays I’ll use vsco cam for some effect. I usually go in with a face effect to clear and smooth my fine lines. Then I’ll go in and balance the lighting to have it appear as natural lighting. That’s usually it, and most of the time I’ll crop the picture so the focus is on my makeup or the product I’m featuring.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I absolutely love Jaclyn Hill and Nikkie Tutorials. Also the morphe account is stunning.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

My fellow instagrammers need to try the newest highlighters that are coming out!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is that you can influence someone’s opinion on a product or brand. If they hear it from someone else, they’ll most likely be into it.
You can potentially change someone’s life/routine and that’s a wonderful feeling.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I would just say to keep your brand as authentic as possible and followers will pour in as they see that. Maintain authenticity by never forgetting where you’re from and where you started.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s important to bring quality and original content to followers because the point of being an influencer is to influence someone’s opinion. Quality will not only bring more followers, but show professionalism. Original content is the key to success, because it shows uniqueness and new followers are attracted to that.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love the entrepreneur experience I get, I feel like every chance I get to work with brands only broadens my perspective in business.
