Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Amirul Usman @Mainstreet_photos_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Amirul Usman and I’m currently 15 and I’m living in Vancouver, BC. I was born from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I live with my family and have 2 brothers. Currently, I am taking photos of people as in portraits and having to practice portraits on my friends. I love photography, my friend got me into it and that made me become the person I am today.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post a lot of designer stuff such as clothing,shoes, jewelry,etc. I do a lot of portraits and I shoot for Rastaclat bracelets as well.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram came from when me and my friends going out and decided to take photos. I didn’t agree to what they were doing but I somehow liked the photos they took of me. That became me afterwards, taking photos for people and such and that’s how my Instagram became to how it is today.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually use Lightroom and have my presets set there.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

The first one who really inspires me the most would be @Illisionary, he has really good work being done and taken. The second one would be @jakobpeter, he helped me out with a lot of work and edits that made my photos turn out today.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

They have to try photography, there’s so much thought and creativity that really puts everything together in one photo.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favourite part would be that I’m helping people so that they can succeed into being the people they really want to be.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My main tips for brands are you gotta shoot the main stream of the brand. For ex. would be "yeezy 350" and that would be a great pic for @Adidas and it maintains the topic people who are into. You maintain authenticity by looking at the product and having a receipt because you wouldn’t want people putting you on blast for having a non authentic item.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

My main advice would be to keep your quality super clean would be to have no blurry effects and to have a bright pop so that people would know it’s there.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I really love how they send me stuff, example would be @rastaclat, they send me a bunch of bracelets for me to shoot and promote them to help them be part of the community.
