Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Alyshia Jones @alyshiajoness

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I studied for the last three years and got a degree in early childhood education. I am currently working in an early childhood centre full time and film youtube tutorials in my weekends- it can get very busy! I’m from New Zealand and live in a small town; athenree.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love beauty, fashion and lifestyle topics! I feature makeup looks the most, but want to start getting into more fashion cookbook posts.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s just my real name- it’s nice and easy!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use pixlr online to edit out blemishes, smooth over my skin, change the sharpness, contrast & brightness and make thumbnail collages for my youtube videos! Sometimes I use the app insta fit to fit large photos into a smaller one that can be fully seen.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love Amrezy (she inspires me for fashion), bybrookelle for makeup posts, I love all of the popular youtubers accounts for inspiration (such as shaaanxo, lauren curtis, chrisppy, desi perkins) and Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try and get inspiration from your favourite/big instagrammers- their accounts are popular for a reason! Get a pose idea, lighting ideas, a makeup look/fashion idea and turn it into your own! Try and upload high quality photos that stand out from the rest.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Sharing what I love with my followers- its a great place to promote my youtube content and receiving the sweetest comments makes it so worthwhile!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For brands I believe they should make an impression and not be too pushy- let the instagrammer choose what they want to say about a product to maintain that authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It is very important! I like using my canon EOS 600D DSLR camera for my instagram photos for great quality and I try to post eye catching images (lots of them have been inspired by my fav instagrammers)- and my post engagement has gone up ever since.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Trying out new products and finding new favourite holy grail products from it! Also partnering with brands has given me more content ideas and more exposure.
