1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I come from the SF Bay Area and recently relocated to LA to pursue my passion in the arts and fashion industry. I currently design, style, shoot and edit my own photoshoots. You can visit my webpage to view more of my work: www.alysekano.com

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My name is Alyse Kano and my fashion line is KANO.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t use apps, I use Photoshop and Lightroom.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

A shoot with me, wardrobe styling by me, a Shotbyjriley film/music video, la food, eyelash extensions by @lashlandla, tape hair extensions, gummy vitamins and biotin, a positive lifestyle in general!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love connecting with my fans and clients, and being a positive influence in their life all together. Many young women ask me to be their mentor and tell me how refreshing it is to see another woman working hard towards my passion and how much I inspire them. It feels great being a positive role model to them.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

My top tips would be:
#1 millienials are very social media savvy, we can tell that an account with 50k followers and 1k likes, and only 3 comments is a fake account.
#2 To maintain authenticity find influencers that represent your brand even without your product. People who live your brand lifestyle and fit a positive message for your clients.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality ALWAYS catches people’s eyes. That’s why when editing I only use Photoshop and Lightroom and not apps that are available for free. I also try to limit my iPhone photos or selfie’s, because the quality cannot compare to my DSLR and I prefer to post polished photos. Original content is necessary for any Instagram account to succeed. Not one successful Instagram account survived on reposted material. The only thing I see reposting good for is influential quotes or for promotion of products or events.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love partnering with brands because I know what it takes to be on their end. I started my Instagram as a brand and my previous clothing line is what got me to my influential status. After selling the clothing line I found that my fans loved me just as much maybe even more then the brand itself. That’s when I knew I wanted to represent more brands and help build them as I did my own.
