Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Adriana Asturias @asucculentart

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi! My name is Adriana, I´m from Guatemala, Central America. I´m 25. I have a succulent nursery with my boyfriend, since 2012.
I studied landscape design, and later on fell in love with succulents, just before all the madness we have right now. I started collecting them and by now I have 175+ different species. Still don´t have enough though… =)
I mean, what is not to love about them? They have ALL the colors, textures and sizes you need, they grow better if you neglect them, and most of them are super easy to reproduce… They have got it all! Including my heart =)

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Succulents obviously… In fact they are the ONLY thing I post… Sorry =D
Mostly photos of my succulent art, pots and arrangements, and sometimes just plants. I´m obsessed with tiny arrangements, love to make them and love how they look.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well, my name is Adriana, there goes the a, I do succulent art, therefor asucculentart, not that much to it. At first it was named aa_landscape_design cause that was the name of my business back then (2012), aa for Adriana Asturias, but the landscape design was just too much for most of the people in Guatemala, since we speak Spanish, so I had to change my business name to suculentarte, which basically means succulent art, and opened a new IG for that, which is mostly propaganda and sales. I kept asucculentart as my personal account for my succulent art pieces, so hence the actual name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don´t edit them that much, I use aviary just for a little color enhance, but that is pretty much it for me! And the occasionally layout (that is the name of the app) for the collages. I like to show my plants as the are, but who doesn´t like a little make up 😉 right girls?

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Well, there are a lot of great pages, but I´ll have to choose the ones that inspire me to create my art pieces sometimes

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Well… you got me on that… =X I would just say, be happy, be kind! =P I know that´s not what you meant, but that what you get ;P

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I don´t really think of me that way… I just like to think people like what I do =) I´m happy if my post makes anyone smile, or inspires someone… I just think this world need more positive things, and nature is that for sure.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

In my personal experience, I would just say that if you have a good product, it will sell itself. But for I think good photos are important, that is what people see about you. Try to engage with your audience, making questions or giving advice can be good too.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Well we all want quality, that is #1. You have to think of yourself as a costumer/client and think what you want/expect in order to succeed. Give your clients what you would like to get, and most likely they´ll come back.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The outcome of different creative minds working on the same thing, can blow your mind.
