Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Abigail Demonteverde @akmdesign1

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Abigail Demonteverde and I am a graphic designer and photographer. I am from Toronto, Ontario with a lot of diversity and culture in the city. I’m proud to be an artist in a constantly developing and moving city.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Some things that comes to my interest of posts are a lot of my sketchbook work to final projects and also some photography that I come upon when I’m at work or even just exploring the city. I love to develop a bynch of artwork and hopefully inspire those around me.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well the simplest way of saying it, it’s pretty much my initials. It just so happens that the first letter of my last name is also in design, so I thought it would look pretty cool.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I pretty much use my phone to edit my pictures so that I could make them into black and white or I use photo shop to edit them a bit better.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I would say that there’s a lot of them out there that inspire me in different ways but ‘logoinspirations’ inspires me for logo designs, art of type or calligraphy masters for calligraphy, and most of my photography inspiration comes from local photographers I know.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would say Calligraphy. Well it’s something I’m totally into right now and it’s very fun to use ink and different nibs. But I would say, try any art form. They’re all pretty fun.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I think it’s just being able to share a story with other people and to inspire those around me. I think it’s a matter of feeding off of each other and getting ideas from each other and trying to get a feel of what you want to do.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think it’s a matter of staying true to your mission and what your brand really stands for. It shouldn’t just be ‘I want to be a brand like Nike (no offence to Nike, they got nice shoes)’ it’s a matter of slowly building up and having fun.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s a matter of keeping things fresh and out of the box. I also think that if you have an idea and you want to create it, then do it.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Simple. You get to do a bunch of projects with your own input to it. *whispers* Above ground, sponsor me.
