Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Zakiya @Beautybyzakiyaa

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m from Clifton nj, I recently graduated college with my bachelors in biology and I am currently enrolled to begin my masters in education I have future plans of being a biology teacher / professor .

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are beauty , makeup, skincare , but mostly makeup.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name came about because I wanted something simple and straight to the point . So when you come to my page you know what to expect . And that is beauty , so I just put Beautybyzakiyaa because when people come to my page I’m showing how I do beauty .

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The apps I use to edit my pics are Facetune and just Instagram . I use Facetune for the smoothing and detailing effect and I use Instagram to tweak the contrast and brightness and other things like that . I rarely use filters on Instagram .

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Japonesque liquid light , it’s the best way to get a beautiful natural looking glow .

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love that I can educate people and point them to the direction of the good products and services so they don’t have to waste their time and money on the bad ones .

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

If your Making a campaigns for women make sure you appeal to all kinds of women . Meaning different races body types . Be inclusive . Not exclusive. I try to maintain authenticity because I realize that there aren’t a lot of confident dark skin black woman and I want to show they that their beauty matters and to remind them not to let anyone steal their confidence

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s important to stay original because everyone and everything being the same in boring so we should appreciate different and uniqueness instead of condemning it .

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the fact that I would be meeting many different people and possibly making more than just buisness relationships but maybe even friendships or mentor ships.
