Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Zaira @zairabookcorner

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a student, I’m majoring in Literature with two minors one in Marketing and the other in Dance. I was born in Mexico but two years I moved to the United States to pursue better education and opportunities.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love dance, musical theater and books. My Instagram is full of books and TV shows. However I sometime like to post about what I’m wearing or my makeup and if something interesting comes up like a vacation, some delicious food or a fun place I’m going I post it.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I was trying to come up with a name for my YouTube channel and my dad said how about “El Rincon de Zaira” and I thought that translated to English it was Zaira’s Corner and I kind of liked it. That was my first name there but later on I figured that I needs something more related to books so I decided that Zaira’s Book Corener was great but it didn’t fit in all of my other social media so it became zairabookcorner.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

First I open Photoshop Express and I play around with the clarity and sharpen. Then, I use VSCO Cam and I adjust the exposure, contrast and saturation. Finally I add a filter and adjust so it isn’t that saturated.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My biggest inspiration is the bookstagram community and two of my favorites are @taylorreads and @eviebookish.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I just bought I new journal from Amazon by the Peter Pauper Press Compny and it’s amazing. The cover is thick and beautiful, also the spiral is golden and that make it so pretty and elegant.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part about being an influencer is that I get to try new brands and the show them to my internet friends.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Do what makes you happy, if it makes you happy it would probably make someone else happy. Be honest, tell story, someone might relate and would start following your brand.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It should be quality I’ve quantity. If you post once a week but with great quality and originality then people would follow you as if you post four times a day but you can barely see anything and the content is boring.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Try new things, sometimes I feel like I get stuck with the same brands. By partnering with different brands I get know their products and get out of my comfort zone.
