Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Winn Chin Qi Ying @winnchin

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am from Singapore and I’ll be turning 19 this year. I live for food, fashion and make-up. Currently, I’m waiting for university to start.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest would be books, make up, food and fashion as well. Most of my photos are my outfit for the day or pictures that depict how I’m feeling specifically at that moment.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is actually my real name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Apps that I use would be actually iPhone camera app itself, Snapseed, VSCO and Instagram editing tools itself. I prefer my picture bright and clear, so the apps I use are mostly used to brighten or enhance the photo. I might use a few filters from VSCO and Instagram.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love sunbeamjess and basically the kardashian family, I mean its really entertaining to see their posts.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would encourage people to try stepping out of their comfort zone and putting themselves out there. Those that have never experimented with make-up should arrange a session and just explore and have fun with their faces. Those that have been wanting to try different styles in their fashion should exchange wardrobes with their friends!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I think it would be being able to share what you love with people who wishes to learn something from you. For instance, if someone needs help with make up or they have the same beauty/fashion problems that you face as well would be able to benefit from my sharing.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think they should not be afraid to provide enough “trial” products to interested people. I ensure that what I say is exactly how I feel about a certain product, I do not think there’s a reason to lie or hide any information of products from people who takes time to see your posts or read it.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I feel that being original is important because that shows respect for people who actually took the time to come up with awesome content. I stand by “do to others as you would have them do unto you”. No one would want anyone to duplicate something that they have done without consent or credits. I believe that quality content shows appreciation and respect because people follow you for a reason and they actually take time to see your content.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like that I’m able to try out and be expose to an array of products. Also, I feel that I will be able to share what I like with the people around me and get them to enjoy the products together.
