1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
Right now i am planning on moving to London next year to study Cultural and Creative Industries (Master in Arts). I am a chilean lawyer, who seeks to influence the chilean creative sector through the use of culture as a social mobility tool. Thats why i created a page (www.cronicadelgraffiti.cl) which seeks to feature all of our artists, showcasing their work and telling their story.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
As administrator of Cronica del Graffiti i post a wide range of pictures. Once a month we have a featured artist, whose profile is uploaded to our page with a short “trailer” as the caption to a picture of one of their murals. We also feature pictures of the most important art happening in our country at the time, as well as events, talks, and artist encounters. Most of the pictures we post are mine, yet we also like to feature posts from people who contribute tagging us in their urban art pictures or using our hashtag (#cronicadelgraffiti).
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
I liked the idea of an institution that would “chronicle” the urban art of Chile in my time. I also think there is a certain poetry to that word, that conveys the beauty that can be found in graffiti and muralism, as well as the deep meaning that they carry.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Mostly, i use photoshop app. I crop the picture, and then edit it. I like to edit it as little as possible, mantaining the “raw” quality of the picture and its feel. I also find pictures that are over edited ofted lack actual quality.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I love many accounts like @instagrafite, @graficamestica , @tv_streetart_ and @valpostreetart
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
I would say HDR pictures are getting too much.
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
That i am really, everyday, changing perceptions of graffiti and muralism. I get to see how people change their perception of it from “dirty” or “dangerous” to seeing it as a form of art, that is very chilean and latinamerican, and that describes and ofter criticises very well the flaws in our society.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
Sometimes events are the best publicity. It is important to keep it natural; when things appear forced, they loose their appeal.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
Today people can tell immediately when something is not original. Also, being able to choose from millions of instagram accounts, competition is fierce to have quality pictures and captions.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
That we both grow, and that more people can know and learn about my cause to promote chilean urban art.
