Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Tola @styleandforks

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hello, my name is name is Tola and I am a content creator. I spent my childhood in Africa then I moved to Chicago and now it is my home and I love it!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I probably have too many topics of interests but my posts are focused on food, art, greenery/florals and anything Chicago related.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It was a collaborative effort with a friend. We both liked fashion and and after thinking for a while the obvious choice was Style & Forks.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My number one app is VSCO. I usually start with a filter then I tweak it and by adjusting specific settings (contrast, saturation, tone, etc.)

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are so many amazing accounts out there. However my number one is @aww.sam, her account is spectacular. She is so creative and her feed makes me so happy!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

My go to for great photos is VSCO, I love it, I don’t know what I would do without it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love the interactions I have with people and learning little details about peoples lives through comments. It just shows how much we all have in common and we really do live in a small world.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the main tip is capturing the perfect audience and working with people that truly emulate the brands beliefs and the brands overall look. Otherwise it could come off as inauthentic and forced.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I truly believe the most important part of being an “influencer” is being original. In such a saturated market you have to make yourself stick out and truly be yourself or you will get lost in the sea of other accounts.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I just love helping other people discover unique brands.
