Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Thomas Falkenstedt @thomasfalkenstedt

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a Swedish guy from Stockholm who moved down to a small town called Lund (near the Danish border and thus Copenhagen) to study political sciences and just got my BA in that this spring. I’ve got a previous masters degree in journalism and work for a political party in Sweden as their social media expert. However I’ve previously worked with both fashion editorials and PR, something I still love, but let’s be real here, there’s not a lot of money in that business. Instagram started off as a narcissistic hobby, but apparently people got interested in seeing pictures of me and all of a sudden I’ve got a lot of followers. This has driven me to take even better pictures and engage in collaboration and to be able to use the full potential of this I’m starting a blog shortly.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

It might sound like a cliché but my topics of interest are fashion, travel and lifestyle including food, health, nutrition and fitness.Mostly I do post pictures of clothes though.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

As I’m unique in having the name I bear, it was obvious from the start that my name would be my trademark.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Photoshop Express as well as Snapseed. The latter is perfect for changing the mood in pictures with a few simple touches.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are so many. I could be mainstream and mention some of the big ones, but I’ll go with a fellow countryman of mine, @robinsebastians, that is Robin Froestroem.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

To be me for one day, haha. Apart from that, they’ve gotta try the ice cream I posted today.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

To see how I can make a change in people’s lives. I can guide them in directions they wouldn’t have thought of themselves or hint about something new and upcoming.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

And here are the clichés again… Stay true to yourself. Don’t be a sellout. Only run campaigns you believe you can actually stand behind 100%. If Donald Trump offered me money to support him, I’d turn him down. I have my integrity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is everything and hence I’m upping my game. I’m not trying to copy what someone else has already done, I’m trying to think outside the box to make it my own.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

To get to know new brands that I could share with my followers as well as getting in touch with brands I’ve admired for ages and always wanted to work for. I love the challenge in both aspects.
