Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Teodora @gom.dora

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi! I’m a Serbian girl living in Croatia, studying biology and speaking Korean. I’m a hopeless romantic and a crazy optimist and I find people very fascinating. I love getting in touch with people from other cultures as much as I like to inspire love for my homeland in them. You would say I am a patriot. But you can also say that sometimes I feel like a tourist in my own home country.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram is almost fully on Korean and that confuses people alot. It’s my thing. Being able to speak Korean fluently has gave me the opportunity to connect with Korean audience and show them everyday life of a girl living in Croatia. And I would like to use it in the future for the same cause. To show them how beautiful my country is – from a native perspective.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Well it’s a long story, but to make it short.. it’s just how you spell my Korean name. Gom means bear and Dora is part of my real name. So to put it together it’s Bear Dora which is kind of cute and reminds me of my high school nickname when my friends used to call me Teddy (short for teddy bear).

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Most of the photos I just edit using Instagram filters. I love the one called Aden! It makes every photo look good. I also like to play with shadows and highlights and the colours. You can make some really artsy fartsy photos with these tools.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love all of my fellow Korean posting foreigners. All of them are a great inspiration. Lately I stumbled upon a Russian beauty living in Korea working as a model and I’ve spoken with her a bit too. She’s beautiful inside out and her name is Angelina Danilova (@angelinadanilova) so make sure to check her out!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Instagram stories? Definitely something that makes me use Instagram everyday. I enjoy watching other people stories and making my own. I think it’s much better than the actual picture because it shows the real life and the best thing about it is that it disappears after 24 hours. Which means it’s exclusive. Only people that watch you daily will get to know you better! Quite romantic for a virtual thing? 😛

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Having voice. It’s a power that puts me on a display among people that are no different than me, but also a responsibility to use that power for doing good. Isn’t that the whole point of social networks? Sharing what is good and reminding people on what is important. I love it for the fact that one day I could help people by just telling them about how I feel and what I think. Helping them realize they are stars of their own even tho they aren’t on public display. Amazing!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

1) be yourself
2) forge an idea
3) nurture it and show it off
4) encourage others to do the same with their ideas 🙂

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It all depends on what is important for you. If you want to share other people ideas and you do it creatively it’s still going to be an original and authentic work and I’m sure people would respect it and love it as well. Uniqueness is the key… all of us have something we’re good at. Sharing stuff we do ourselves and are proud of will encourage others to do so, and I think that’s as romantic as dancing in the rain or getting chocolate on a bad day from your crush. Just think about what would you like more: to be appreciated for being who you are or for pretending to be who you are not?

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

You can help people know if the brand is worth it from your perspective. I always remember the sponsored videos of Liza Koshy for Nike. She did it in her own way. She didn’t lie, she wasn’t trying to sell it off by all costs… she was herself, funny and adorable but she also showed sincerity and professionalism. Enjoyed it to the bits. A real role model.
