Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Taylor Skirda @taylorskirda

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a born and raised Ottawa, Ontario gal! Finishin’ up my last year of undergrad at the University of Ottawa, just waitin for my entrepreneurial career to take flight! I’ve got some businesses a brewin’ so y’all just wait and see what’s to come in this new year!! 🙂

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interests are business (being a #bossbabe), all things Canadian (camping, hockey games, the good ol outdoors, and some other girly things too…!)

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is literally just my name.. yknow, just to limit the risk of confusion aha

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

VSCO for every.single.photo. Inlove with it! I am loyal to one this one filter of which I am keepin a secret for now! With some other minor edits to improve picture quality such as clarity, sharpness, and sometimes adjusting the highlight save. I like keepin my insta a certain consistency in terms of the colour scheme 🙂 much easier on the eyes

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

My gurl Jessiejamesdecker is a role model of mine, along with her hubby bein my dream guy hah. Also like stephclairesmith, she’s a model that I admire due to her healthy lifestyle, as well as her overall contagious happiness 🙂 need some more Canadian insta stars though ;$

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

More photos that are REAL. As in just the little amazing moments in life, that ppl will scroll through and smile because it’s just so genuine and uplifting that you can’t help it 🙂 realistic goals to happiness, not just LV bags and vast amounts of bling and nice cars.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I just want to empower girls my age. Give them the drive that they should have! Any girl can become successful if we support each other 🙂 I want to take them through my journey, not from LA or anythin, not rich, but I can accomplish great things anyways, and live a exceptionally happy life, and so can they!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Although I haven’t launched a brand yet, I am planning to do so in 2017. I think the most important tip is to engage as much as possible with your social media followers! Make them feel like they’re all part of the brand family! Create contests, give them options to make them feel involved, and get celebs to sponsor your products as well!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think 3/4 should be original content. The rest can be cute visuals to up the look of your account in general 🙂 but your followers are following to see new posts from you, not anything else.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The first business I’m going to be embarking in will be allll about partnerships! I love partnerships because of the combination of your resources, being able to reach new potential markets, and the extra support from the partners and their followers! 🙂
