Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Taylor Hubbard @_taylorraquel

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but I’ve been in Houston, Tx since I was about 7 years old. I am a full time student and also a full time nursing assistant at MDAnderson Cancer Center. I recently started a new blog, taystastytravels.com, which I hope to continue full time. I love to travel, eat and cook so my blog documents my travel experiences, some of my favorite restaurants, recipes, various foods from different cultures and more!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interest are food, fashion, and travel. I mainly post about all of those things, but mostly about my experiences. Times with my friends and family, my day to day, and various adventures. I also am a local print and promotional model so I post some of my shoots and promotional jobs along with clothing lines that I’ve modeled.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name was originally justdoit_liketay which I got from Nike, and I had tons of followers, but I was wanting a fresh start, a different audience and to be more personal (this was before i realized influencers were a thing) so I started a new profile with just my first and middle name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

If i do edit my photos, I usually use the Instagram filters, an app called picsart, or instasize

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Yes, one of my favorites who inspire me for my blog is @greeneyesgoldsoul. Some of my other favorites are @bodmonzaid @kaylamadonna and @lipstickncurls

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Ipsy. It’s a monthly subscription for beauty products. They send anything from nail polish to makeup brushes. I love that they try to customize it for you and it’s packaged in a cute little pouch every time! It’s very affordable and the sample sizes are worth it.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love how interesting it is. Trying out new things and just seeing what my followers or other people like and are interested in.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think some top tips are to just be genuine and authentic. Find your audience and stay true to what you represent. Try not to confuse or mislead the audience by trying to make a sale. If you believe in your brand, the authenticity is there.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and originality is very important. You want to be able to stand out from others. Say I buy into a new trend, I’m going to try to make it my own and style it in a way I havnt seen it done. Or for instance, my blog. I felt like I could have done a blog with my #ootd and various products or even a naturalista blog, but I decided to blog about my favorites things and wanted to show people how it is possible to juggle various life goals and try new things, travel on a budget and learn to cook! I feel like I’m being true to myself and allowing my audience to really get to know me and just be real instead of trying to be in the crowd, and not show or do things just for likes.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like being open and trying new things. Using brands I’m used to, and using brands I’ve never heard of or have never given a try before. I’m a very curious and honest person and I would want my fans to know the pros and cons of products but also let them know that my opinion may vary from others but it helps when hearing things from a different perspective.
