Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: tara belle @misstarabelle

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am originally from Pittsburgh, pa where I was born and raised and I moved down to Charleston, SC when I married my husband. I have always worked in the fashion industry and quit my job as a buyer and stylist to start a family, which is where blogging came in! it is a great way for me to stay active in the fashion community and still have that “stylist” voice, while being able to stay home and be with my boys

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

fashion and personal style is what i’m most passionate about. I also consider myself a bit of a latte snob, so my coffee is usually close at hand if not seen in most of my shots.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

as a kid, I was the only blonde haired, blue eyed girl on the block, so my parents called me Tara Belle from the get go. the name stuck and down south everyone goes by miss, so it just made sense!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

facetune is my editing bible!! if facetune can’t fix it, nothing can. and then I adjust my filters with AColorStory. it has a great selection!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love the OG’s like sincerely jules and song of style, but most inspiring? thrifts and threads!! not only is her style totally on point, but she’s relatable, and she shares the most amazing tips and tricks on her blog and truly wants everyone to succeed, which is pretty freakin awesome!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

planoly!!!! it’s this new app that schedules your posts and lets you upload and arrange your feed before any of the images ever go live. its life changing!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

the relationships I’ve made!! from other bloggers, to my readers, to brands; I have made some pretty amazing life long friendships all over the country and free clothes aside, that’s pretty priceless

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

let us do our thing!! we know our readers and more importantly, our readers know us! so if i’m told to share a stock photo with a predetermined caption, ummm, no thanks!! I only use my own images and I always create my own captions and if I don’t like something, i’m gonna let you know. I would hate for a reader to buy something based on my recommendation if the product wasn’t really all that great.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

it’s a must!! if the lighting is bad or the backdrop is blah, don’t post that photo girl!!! it’s not worth it! grainy photos are no Bueno, but i’ll take a crappy cell shot over a stock photo anyday.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

free clothes is obviously a wonderful perk, but I love when I get to work with brands that I genuinely shop and love!! and I love getting to see the collections first and share new designers with my readers.
