Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Svetlomir Tsvetanov @svtsvetanov

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Well, where does one start? I am originally from Bulgaria, but around when I turned 19 – I moved to the UK to pursuit my Bachelor degree in Media production and Culture. After graduating in 2013, I started freelancing as a photographer and blogger/writer. I had the opportunity to work for young and newly formed companies, such as Novella Magazine. Eventually I started developing my photography portfolio (www.svtsvetanov.com) and then I discovered that visual arts and fashion are something I am very interested in. Currently I work as a Student adviser, which pays the bills until I move to London and run an Independent Men’s fashion periodical called Stark magazine, which can be found at www.starkmag.com

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Jeez, I post everything really, things that capture my eyes and I think would be nice for everybody else to see. I tend to gram mostly about Photography, travel and food. I consider myself somewhat a decent cook and therefore like to showcase the Bulgarian cuisine through my lens. Most recently I have been posting about my trip to New York.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Having a complicated name has its perks. So using the initials from my first name and then adding the surname was my success recipe.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

The list always changes as I try to mix and match always my visual. Nevertheless, here are some of my favourite image manipulating apps: VSCO, InstaMark, Foodie, Spinly, Cymera and Pixlr.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I particularly love following photographers and magazines. Among my dearest are : Lara Jade, she does a lot of amazing Fashion photography and travelling at the same time; Rebecca Bathory – an amazing travelling and urban decay photographer, her stories are simply breath taking and jaw breaking;

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I believe, we should not be following other people’ style. Find your own voice and express yourself, that’s the beauty of it. Now that we can upload longer videos, we should make the best of it. A minute of video is really enough to say so much. I would ask you: ”What do you want to say?”

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I am getting started, but it is most definitely the opportunity to meet so many people all over the world and discuss common interest and new points of view. I am also very excited about sharing new fresh content especially for my followers/

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

For me most importantly is to research the brand and see what they are all about, look at trending topics and combine them with your style. Shoot more and experiment, I find that very useful and refreshing even for my own personal and client work.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

DO NOT COPY OTHER PEOPLE’S COMPOSITION. This for me is the worst way of saying, I have seen it elsewhere. Experiment and experiment even more. You will get it there at the end.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Finding the soft spot between the visual idea of the company and my goal. It is not easy to capture a company’s values in one photo, but is most definitely fun to have this opportunity.
