1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
hi! my name is stephanie, and as you can probably gather, i like food. i live in palm beach with my husband & cavachon, am a lawyer by trade, and love to cook for family & friends.
i started cooking when I was a little kid in the kitchen with my mom. many of my favorite recipes are twists on the staples my brothers and i grew up eating, and i also like to experiment with new ideas and ingredients.
i have lived in memphis, nashville, nyc, los angeles, and palm beach–which means i have a soft spot for southern cooking, but also love just about everything else (except no goat cheese or blue cheese–i know, it’s a personal flaw).
in each of these cities (and throughout my various travels along the way) my favorite activities have included researching (read: stalking yelp and menus to the point my family and friends deem bizarre), trying new restaurants, & experimenting with my own recipes at home.
my posts, not surprisingly, include restaurant recommendations, pictures of my favorite dishes, & the various recipes i’ve whipped up along the way.
i know that people are busy, and when i personally look up recipes online i don’t really want to read an entire blog post. rather, i find myself scrolling down to the recipe, and sometimes the scrolling seems never-ending.. for that reason, i keep my posts short & sweet & get to the recipes. hope you enjoy!
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
food, recipes, and travel.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
i was on my way to London with my husband, and i decided i wanted to post about our food journey. the idea for dishandchips is a play on the the iconic London staple, fish and chips.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
i love snapseed to edit. my photos are solely taken with my iPhone, and i learned how to use snapseed by reading david molnar’s ebook, iPhone only photography.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
i love the pictures from thepicurist, infatuation, mollyyeh, thepioneerwoman, and giadadelaurentiis.
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
my recipe for baked parmesan truffle fries: http://www.dishandchipsblog.com/baked-parmesan-truffle-fries/
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
i love sharing with others my passion for food and cooking, and i love getting feedback to constantly improve!
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
i think you just always have to be yourself. know who you are and your voice, and don’t stray from that.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
the lawyer in me would caution against posting pictures that are not original–you don’t want to have a copyright lawsuit on your hands!
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
working together is always better than working alone 🙂
