1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I live near London, UK. I haven’t always wanted to do blogging though! I became paralysed from the waist down in early 2015 and that messed up my career plans but I fell into blogging from there. I’m also a network marketer which helped me get the following to become an influencer.
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I mainly post about beauty, fashion, travel and lifestyle. I also post about my German Shepherd Kaz and my cars. With beauty I tend to focus on the brand that I promote as a network marketer. I also Instagram a lot about my disability and being that into my posts as a way of showing people that nothing in life will stop you if you just keep pushing forwards.
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
My Instagram name came about as a simple one. Very much just my name, Steph Weller. The 97 came about because I was born in 1997.
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
Funnily enough, none of my photos are edited! I believe that no filters and editing is the best way to post because it shows what is in the photo in its true colours. There’s no falseness, just 100% true realness.
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
I follow Dina Tokia, also known as Dina Tokio because she is like me in that she wants to promote inclusivity, just with her it’s culture/religion based and with me it’s disablility based. I also follow all 3 of the meet the vloggers team (Yasmin, Laila, and Kel).
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Post a follow without any editing or filters! You’ll be surprised at just how many people love a photo that’s completely unedited!
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
My favourite part about being an influencer is that I get to give advice and tips to so many people. I also like the fact that people come to me and ask for advice because I’m quite open about my disablility etc with people. I don’t believe in trying to hide what happened to my spine.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
My biggest tip to brands would be to find influencers that genuinely already love your brand and aren’t just there for the money. I only work with brands that I know I can promote and love in order to maintain authenticity.
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
My advice is that quality and original content is so imprtant! No one will take notice if ou just get a stock photo from the Internet whereas if it’s you using the product, people will take notice! If it’s a makeup product or similar, I tend to take a selfie of me wearing the product and holding it in the photo, so that people can see exactly wha the product is about.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
The best thing I like about partnering with brands is the fact that I get to work with brands I love and find out new things about them which I didn’t know beforehand. It’s also great to know that you’ve potentially introduced new people to a brand that you love! That is definitely a satisfying feeling!
