Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: sofy rahman @sofy_rahman

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am Sofy from (always) sunny Singapore. Spent a total of 8 years of being a flight attendant where 4 years of it, I was based in Doha, Qatar. Overcoming my shyness, I entered Mrs Singapore World 2014 as a finalist. I am also an author of 2 colouring books for adults where I assist adults ( and some kids ) de-stress through art. One more book under Coloursutra is in the making. This time , it will be a creative journal.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

So many to list! 😛
But I have to choose arts, crafts,cats, makeup, food!
Mostly arts and cats!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is simply my name. Simple and easy to remember 😀

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I have recently ‘ cleaned ‘ up my instagram gallery.

My photo editing steps :

1. I’ll open up Whitagram and crop my picture to either a 4:3 or 3:4 ( depends on the picture ) . If it is a 3:4, Ill add an extra white border so that it will flow with the 4:3 pictures.

2.Filter editing will just be in Instagram itself. I will adjust the brightness, contrast, warmth and saturation accordingly. I am currently going for the desaturated theme. 🙂

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I admire Nectar and Stone ( for its gorgeous and yummy gallery ) , Abbeysy ( for her talent and gorgeous artwork ) , Lisa Congdon ( for her quirky illustrations ).

Abbeysy definitely! For her consistency and her gorgeous handwork! 😀

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Creative journalling! 🙂 I feel that it gives a chance of one being able to express themselves freely in a creative way. Plus it is sooooo much fun! If one can’t draw, there are washi tapes and stickers to have fun with! 😛

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

To be given to influence people is definitely a powerful skill to have. Especially when we are able to influence, inspire and make a difference in the lives of others. ( for the better , of course ) I guess that alone makes me happy and fulfilled.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Build an identity where one can immediately identify the brand with. To have a strong voice behind the brand is equally important.

How do I maintain authenticity? I guess is to simply be myself. 🙂

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Why would we want to copy where we are able to create. To be able to create is the most satisfying feeling EVER! 🙂

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Best part of collaborations is that we work on each others’ strengths and community. To bring out the best in each other.
