Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sheryl Ng @sherylnsy

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a full time college student in KL, Malaysia. I’m a huge animal and eco lover as well as a crazy wanderlust island kitty. I create content on my instagram and blog whilst managing my 2 own businesses. My passion is also portraiture photography!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

There’s a good mix of travel, fashion and lifestyle. Occasionally, food. I always keep my feed nicely flowed and interesting.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s just my name followed by the initials of my chinese name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

VSCO and Snapseed for the win. I usually put them on snapseed first to adjust tones etc then bring it in to VSCO for some filtering.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

A vacation to Krabi!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I get to share about the wonders of loving mother nature and inspiring others to travel. Love the Earth.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

To not have such strict briefs but instead just an overview of what needs to be achieved. So that the influencer can create their own unique content that suits their style.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I always try to make sure my photos are creative or at least done in a nice setting. I don’t like when an influencer doesn’t put any effort into their photos + have a super obvious caption.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

It benefits both parties with promotion for them and also helps me improve on creating good content. It matters most to me that I only partner with brands I trust.
