Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Shawn & Tricia @mingzzis

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

We are travel vloggers and photography enthusiasts who look to creatively document our adventures through the lens of the camera and our products are showcase on our social media, in particular our Youtube channel.
Though we are based in in Singapore, we avidly seek to travel and explore the beautiful mysteries our world has to offer. We seek to inspire people to take that little leap of faith, take the step out of their routine and embark on this magical journey of limitless adventures and while doing so, discover the little hidden bits of themselves.
I am an Architectural Designer with Masters in Architecture while Tricia is an Engineer with the Bachelor of Engineering (Honors). In our respective careers, creativity is the key. Our years in school and profession practice have allowed us to hone our sense of aesthetics and creative expressions even for the most mundane.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Travel, landscape, architecture and cultures are our key interests and on most of our travels, we actively seek them out.
Our instagram posts predominantly revolve around our travels and occasionally our lifestyle activities.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

mingzzis is basically a combination of our names.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

We predominantly use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

We typically seek to showcase what we see through our eyes at the moments of capture so our usual routine comprises of mainly tweaking just the vibrancy, saturation and contrast of our images.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Currently, the instagrammers that inspire me the most are renowned content creators such as Casey Neistat, Chris Burkard, Rob Stroke and Alex Strohl.

We also seek inspiration close to home with two local content creators, Jino Shita and Ron Lin

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Travel to places less travelled instead of the usual destinations. That way we could showcase the hidden beauty our world has to offer.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Quite simply, it would be to inspire people to take that little leap of faith, take the step out of their routine and embark on their own magical journey of limitless adventures. There just so much to see.

Hearing from our followers how we have inspired them to travel is without doubt our favourite part.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Creativity and always striving to view and capture ideas / things from a varied perspective would be the most important. With the proliferation of many social media avenues and various campaigns, doing the above will without doubt help to campaigns stand out and leave a more lasting impression.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality and original content, as explained in Qn 8, are pivotal in today’s climate. Originality doesn’t mean one is not allowed to seek inspiration from content produced by others. Instead, adding a personal twist to creative ideas help to showcase what one is all about and better allow content creators to connect with their followers.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Collaboration and the expansion of ideas. There is always a time when one just simply cannot generate any new ideas. Through partnering with brands, it allows for us to expend our source of inspiration, be open to new and unique ideas and perhaps as a bonus, get increased exposure to what we are doing.
