Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Shastri Darsono @nyuqi

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi, my name is Shastri. I’m from Jakarta, Indonesia.
After having 10 years working experiences in Advertising, Event Organising and Public Relations. I decided to have an early pension and wanted to enjoy life more and do all the things that I want to learn.
I love travelling and have been travelling to many countries and cities in the world. I love taking pictures of beautiful moments. I had been endorsed with local products. So for the past 1 year, I am officially focusing on being a lifestyle influencer. I’d love to share my journey with my followers.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My topics of interests are travelling, fashion, music, food and cooking.
I love to post my travelling journey with the hashtag #nyuqistrip where you can see many photos on the places I’ve been to. I also love to post good food recommendation with the hashtag #nyuqisfoodpics. I love to post products that I often use and give good recommendations on it too. After all, isn’t it lovely if we share good things that happen in our life? 🙂

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

The funny thing is that the ID @nyuqi I used right now is my 2nd account. I forgot my 1st account password which ID was with my name on it.
So I made a 2nd account and did a lot of posting in this account. Until one day, I got an email that I was chosen to be an Instgram influencer. I never thought that I could be an influencer from the first day I used Instagram.
It turns out living in this digital era, we cam connect easily through out the world.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Basically, I love to share the originality of a photo, that’s why I don’t usually do lots of editing with it. I love the challenge of taking good photos from the angles.
But if I have to edit, its usually for the brightness or filters that suits on my mood.
Unlike any other Instagram artist feeds, you can see my feeds aren’t typical hehe.
Overall, my 3 best apps for edit photos are Rookie Cam, Snapseed and VSCO. It’s easy and has good naturally filters.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I have plenty that inspires me. But my #1 inspiration is @chiaraferragni.
Thanks to her, any type of person in this world that can give good influence and active in social media can be the world social media influencer and have the opportunity to work with famous brands. To me she’s like the social media influencer queen.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Do things that you think you can’t do.
Use all the time you have for travelling.
Just try to enjoy life…
After all, we only live once.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I like meeting new people and learn how to communicate with their different types of personality. There’s always good lessons to it.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Having a working background as an advertiser, host and a public relations, I don’t want to take advantage of getting free stuffs and giving fake reviews, just for popularity. Even though I know that’s the fastest way to increase my followers.
I love working with brands that suits me and my personality. I want the whole world to know how good that brand is by giving good, honest reviews about it and how that product effects on me.
I know it sounds too idealistic, but thats how I maintain my authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Nowadays, there are so many apps that offers plenty choice of filters. For example,
there are filters that can make a photo of the beach looks clean dramatically wonderful. But when I went to that beach, it was dirty and not good as it looks like on the pic. So much of fake advertising.
And just like I said before, I don’t do much editing on photos so my followers can see the originality of a product or place.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love having new experiences and having the privileges to work with them.
