Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sharfin Islam @atinyreader

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a BBA Marketing student, residing in Bangladesh.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I own a “bookstagram” account, i.e. an account solely centered around books, book photography, reviews etc.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I actually changed my instagram ID a couple of time before finally deciding on A Tiny Reader, because it felt so personal (I’m VERY short, even by my country’s standards) and it stuck the longest, I guess.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I absolutely LOVE VSCO cam although I still just use the free filters. I’ve recently figured out how to use Snapseed as well, so I guess you can say I only use these two apps.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are so many book accounts out there which a absolute goals. but the one account the initially inspired me to open my account in the first place was Muskan’s (@book_maniacc) because 1) hers was the first I came across, 2) her pictures are BEAUTIFUL, and 3) she’s super duper nice! Another account worth mentioning would be Eshadi’s (@thereadersblock) whose pictures are also gorgeous <3

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

INSTA STORIES! They’re so useful when you want to update everyone on your daily life but not mess up your feed!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I love seeing the joy of readers when they find out that reading can open up so many opportunities for you, and when they find out there are SO many other people who are just as crazy as you are about the things you love. I love fangirling with them, giving and taking suggestions and of course sharing and getting to know about each other’s lives

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Look at the person(s) behind the blog, see how they interact with each other, or how much time and effort they put behind the feed. There will always be similarities between feeds, we all inspire each other. But the people behind the accounts are all unique, and that’s where you’ll find authenticity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

It’s hard to find a properly original content nowadays with so many people active online. Quality, of course, matters and should be top notch. Originality however, depends on each person. As long as they’re not directly stealing pictures and not crediting the owners, it’s all good!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

To be honest, the exposure. What with instagram’s new algorithm our posts don’t get to people’s feeds as much as they used to. It’s hard for new accounts to grow and even the larger ones seem to be struggling. I know the likes and followers count are just numbers but they do play a huge role as an incentive to posting and blogging.
