Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Serene Lim @serenefoodology

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hi Hi, I’m from Singapore. I am a Personal Blogger. I love coffee, cafe hopping and try all kinds of food, be it restaurants, cafes, high tea, hawker, fast food, fine dining, snacks etc. I also cook for my family and healthy one-dish meal for myself at times (mainly lunch), I enjoy baking too. I believe in maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle so I workout daily (except Sundays) and try to eat healthy when I’m home.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post regularly on food and my cooking. I’m also sharing my travel adventures. I just came back from Europe and Dubai so I’ll be updating quite a bit on the beautiful places I’ve been to. I hope to share more on my fitness journey and lifestyle topics too.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Serene is my name and Serenefoodology means Serene sharing all her food experiences.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I mainly use my Samsung Note Gallery to brighten up my pics. Sometimes I use Snapseed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like Danielfooddiary for his honest food reviews.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I get to make many friends and share my food adventures and homecooking with people. I also enjoyed trying the different food at restaurants, cafes, eateries during the tastings/ invites. I like creating content with my pictures and sharing them with my followers.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

I love StarNgage as it connects micro-influencers like myself to brands, offering endless wonderful collaboration opportunities. I had taken part in a campaign with Ayam Brand through StarNgage. I created bentos using Ayam Brand products and promoted their contest. It was a really fun campaign.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think brands could encourage influencers to create content in a non-advertorial tone, being natural, friendly and fun is more captivating. And of course, authenticity is the most important factor for selecting accounts to participate in the campaigns. I only use my own pictures which I took by myself.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Having quality and original content is really important. This is how the account stands out and builds reputation. Some fine-tuning/editing of the pictures seems essential to produce good quality pictures. And only original content deserves respect.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I get to know brands that I might not know before and try out their products. And best of all, I might earn some income which is awesome as I’m a stay home mum with no income at all.
