Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sarah @passportbites

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Hey! I’m Sarah. I was born in the Philippines, but raised here in Dubai. Currently, I’m working in a Digital Marketing company – managing various social media accounts and websites, designing graphics, and creating content. During my free time, I do photography, videography, blogging, and (as much as I could) traveling.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I love everything from food, leisure, entertainment, books, adventure, sports, to travel. However, on my Instagram account (@passportbites), I focus mostly on food and travel.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s simple – “passport” signifies my passion for travel, and “bites” for my love for food! Hence, the name Passport Bites was born 🙂

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I love using Snapseed for basic tools like brightness, contrast, and ambience; MIX for enhancements; and InstaSize for filters!

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

For travel, I stalk accounts like – Beautiful Destinations, Sam Kolder, Runaway Ueli, Intravelist, and Dame Traveler. To keep up with updates on #mydubai, I stay tuned to Pixelville, Aljvd, and of course MyDubai. Zomato and Buzzfeed Tasty are my go-tos for food. However, for daily inspiration and motivation, I looooove Myfashdiary and Glorygirlfit!

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Flatlays! Ahhhhh I wish I’m at expert in flatlays though.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Receiving messages about how I inspire them to travel more, to start blogging, and to stay grateful for the simplest things that come their way, is my most favourite part of being an influencer.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Be transparent. The only thing to maintain authenticity, and to keep people’s trust, is by being completely honest and truthful in everything you post and say. Don’t be afraid to show them you’re human, and that it’s not all about the numbers. It’s about being genuine too.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be yourself. You don’t have to post every single day. But when you do, make sure you’re posting it with all your heart. In terms of originality, it’s cool to follow brands and learn how they do things but, never copy anything that doesn’t feel or sound like you. Again, be yourself.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

When you work with brands, you tend to push yourself more than the usual because you know you’re not only representing your brand. And that’s what I love best. Because then, we open ourselves to new realizations about who we are and what we are capable of doing.
