Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sanika @foodtravelpeople_

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am from one of the culturally rich cities in India called as Pune. I am a student and I got done with my graduation in commerce very recently. I have been associated with a travel company based in India for more than 6 years and I travel to at least 5 different destinations every year with a bunch of kids or students as an instructor with them. I love to explore, I love meeting new people and I always try different kinds of food. I got into food and travel blogging completely out of nowhere. It was an outcome of the passion that I had for both the things.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mostly talk about my personal experiences at a restaurant and my take on different types of food. I always look at the brighter side of everything so criticism is not my cup of tea. I do a lot of videos and post stories about how a certain restaurant started. So, my Instagram is mostly about food and travel.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

Previously my current Instagram was my personal account where I used to post everything from my selfies to what I ate. Later, since it had majority food pictures, I made it a public account. I started getting a lot of views and likes and my follower count increased. That is when I decided to make it interesting for the viewers. The three things that hold importance on my life are Food, Travel and People and that is what I decided to name it. Within 6 months I had about 16000 people following my page on Instagram.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I don’t believe in a lot of editing and Instagram filters are enough for me. I use an iPhone or Nikon P900 to click the pictures.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

There are a lot of Instagrammers to take inspiration from so naming one would do injustice to the others. But I follow a lot of chefs, home-cooks, adventure travelers and some really amazing travel bloggers from all around the world who have outstanding instagram profiles. I can’t really name one because each one of them has inspired me in a lot of different ways.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I would like to give a message to the food bloggers, pictures are important. No doubt, but try and have a meal without clicking any pictures of it. It is fun!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I get to do what I love the most. Social media!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Keep it real. Believe in your product and target the right audience. Don’t make offers or commitments you cannot achieve. Don’t focus on the number of likes, instead focus on reaching the right masses. Social media has a lot of power. Use it wisely.
I do not accept offers just because there is money. i stick to my genre and that is how I have maintained authenticity. I never talk about something that I haven’t tried. I always make sure I try it first and then only if I like it, I would put it up on my Social Media pages.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Content has to be original and it has to be something that the masses can relate to. There is a reason why people trust the influencers and to keep that trust intact the content has to be original and the content has to be real. Creativity can never go out of style.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Social media has so much power that it can make or break a brand. There are so many different products in the market and so many innovative things that people are doing. Us as influencers when we get to be a part of something like or when we get to partner with some brand it is definitely a great feeling and of course there are perks.
