Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Sabrina Sim @Sabbwie

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I come from Singapore and I grew up in Singapore. Currently, I’m studying Human Resource Management with Psychology.

Apart from academics, I do Archery as a sport, and I’m also part of my school’s club. My role in both my Archery Club as well as my school’s club is publicity.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

On my Instagram, I like to share a lot about my fashion. One good example is OOTDs.

Apart from that, I also occasionally post about beauty, lifestyle and food.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name is actually derived from a nickname that my friends and family always call me. I have a few nicknames, such as Sab, Sabbie, Sabri.

Out of all the nicknames I’m given, my favourite one is sabbie. I decided to use that as my Instagram username, just that I added a ‘w’ in it to make it sound more unique.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only use 2 apps to edit my photo – Lightroom and PicsArt.

Usually I will first go into PicsArt to add some funky stickers and also adjust the lighting of my photo.

After that I’ll save that photo and bring it in Lightroom to apply some filters onto it, so that it will fit in with my feed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like @XiaXue.

I think she’s brave and outstanding. She is an influencer whom I look up to because she will not let society decided her perspective of things. She has a mind of her own is she is not afraid to speak it.

Moreover, she is sensitive and knowledgeable when it comes to politics, which makes her outstanding, because that is something that most influencers in today’s world will not talk about.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I enjoy inspiring people.

Not everyone has an influence on others. Therefore, as an influencer, what I enjoy most is having an impact in other people’s life. I enjoy empowering people. Through my journey as an influencer, I feel proud to have helped reached out to some people when they are at their lowest point of their lives.

Because I know what it feels like to feel lost and have no where or no one to turn to, that’s why whenever I get the chance to, I will make sure to guide my audience to the right direction and ensuring my presence inspire them.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

StarNgage links brands to individuals like myself, helping to build a pool of talent and fostering relationships through campaigns.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think the most important point to note for brands who are running campaigns is honesty.

The further elaborate, do not sugarcoat your words to your audience just to gain sales. Business is all about trust. Therefore, what is important is to gain the trust of your audiences, to make sure eventually, they will come back again to buy your products and thus, creating brand loyalty.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be yourself.

I stumbled across a quote that mentioned something about how you should not try to be other people; because they can be the best them, but only you can be the best you.

This quote really inspired me and it is something I’ve kept in my heart for a long time. Be yourself, because only you can be you, no one else can be you. That’s how you stay original.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love forming relationships across the globe.

I’m a very people-oriented person and I think that is what made me choose this journey as an influencer. Because as an in influencer, not only will I get to partner with brands, I also get to interact frequently with my wide audience.
