Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: rosi ross @rosiross

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am half Venezuelan-Panamanian whos living in Hong Kong. I have a 9 to 5 where I do business development in cosmetics for brands, the company where I work created cosmetics for companies like Sephora, Boots UK, NEXT UK, and more. I also run my website www.rosiross.com where we write and recommend beauty and lifestyle experiences. My team is currently 6 people for my website. I integrate both things together and I aim to teach that you can learn from others and grow your brand in a conscious and expert manner with field expertise and practice in your field of interest. Not only by being passionate about a topic.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I post about beauty, lifestyle, and travel. Mostly things that inspire man and women to create a lifestyle worth living, based on good aesthetics (beauty inside and out), lifestyle (how you live and why to live like this) and business (because we can’t live from air LOL). Mostly my captions are to encourage, motivate, empower, or educate. I think the best leaders are based on these 4 factors.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

in 2008 I was working as a freelance model in San Francisco while going to English school and a photographer told me Rosi Ross was better than my real full name, “Rosi Ross like Rick Ross but prettier” and I called myself Rosi Ross since then. -this is not my real name tho-

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

We create our own presets based on places and feelings. Mostly theory of color, based on a place or a feeling. Also when I travel I see colors or art and get inspired to shot a single set of pictures, when we have 3 sets we use a preset to make them look aesthetically pleasing. Then we use GRAMTO to schedule. For IG moments, Facebook, Twitter I use Prequel, PS Express o Vcus for video stories, Video fashion also work for me when I want to tell stories part by part.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@okaylaaa I think she’s just herself and funny + her makeup is always flawless
@verniecenciso and her sister, they both have amazing aesthetics and the editions are awesome also really good at stories
@adamrayokay because if you are Latino like me, it’s just too funny
@makestopoficial for makeup inspiration
@thebusinesshacks for business guide and inspo when I feel burn out

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I can teach and lead others to live under their own terms, to create a better life, and mostly to believe they can achieve ANYTHING. On my Ted talks, many young people ask me about living abroad, their goals, their dreams or just for advice about their lives -which I can’t say I am the best example- but I can assure if we live a life where we feel always fulfilled during the ups and downs and we are moving forward and achieving things we can always help and teach others to move to a better place financially, physically, emotionally and individually. I use my communication tools and power for that.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

Oils, beauty, and accessories, mostly with brands from Southeast Asia. Many western people don’t like things made here -in Asia- but I think we have so much value to bring to the table. From small brands to big companies, there is a lot of creativity and different aspects in art, products, design, that are totally different to the western culture. I try to teach about that difference and to embrace all things Asian.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

– first value then conversion (focus on the value of your products and then on sales)
– bring solutions (we can all bring solutions in any area of business, a good business will always mean good solutions)
– do it fun (if you are not having fun with what you are doing then look for it. 100% of fun while doing something can bring conversion faster)
– focus on your game (other people is playing too but only your game is yours)
I think authenticity comes from within, it’s a vibe, like a personal blueprint and people feel it and notice it when you write or you make a story or create a pool about a product when you are authentic people connect in a deeper way and you have more room for creativity.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

read and educate yourself, also be on top of the updates. The world advance in the way we all do so is on top of the things that are currently happening and think also about the things that will happen in the future. Quality and originality are both hands by hand if you really want to be good at this game. Don’t think about competence or what other people are doing, bring your authentic self to your topic or content of interest. It’s better to have 1000 people who you can convert into a great product than 1M which doesn’t care about your product at all.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Learning about them and understanding the value they bring to the market. Also teaching other people pros and cons of each brand -because we all have- so it’s really interesting to learn and understand the market and the people, also the brands creating trends and helping the industry to grow and move forward.
