Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Regine @starsofheaven

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am based in the Philippines. I have a deskjob and I work from Mondays to Saturdays. I travel to take a break, it’s my escape from everything.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I usually post my travel photos, sometimes to announce that there is a new post on my blog. I believe I am able to contribute a lot in the travelling aspect of blogging.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I love looking at stars at night and I came across a quote when I was younger. The quote goes “only in the darkness can you see the stars” and my take on that quote is that there are times wherein you have to undergo some hardships to be able to see and appreciate what life can offer.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

My go-to editing app used to be VSCO but then I shifted to Lightroom! I don’t usually have a fixed “theme” as I would like the photo to be as natural as possible.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I don’t really have a favorite but I love Instagrammers who have their own career and do Instagram during their free time or out of their hobby. I have always believed that people should have a fixed career (not Instagram, blogging or being an influencer) because everyone’s fame will only be up to a certain point in time.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Although engagement, likes, comments and followers are important (since brands do check up on this) don’t let it control you. I have such low following as compared to others but I am happy where I am. I don’t stress about the content, how it looks like and what not.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I wouldn’t label myself as an influencer, I have always believed that the term influencer is only fit for those who can help a vast majority of the population change their perception in seeing things for the better.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I have always believed that the brand will shine if the product they are selling is genuinely good. I hate it when brands hard sell. It’s such a turn off.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I have experienced having to posts fixed content and I hated it. I felt like I was lying since I had to say something good about the brand that I don’t use or I don’t believe in. Ever since then, I have declined offers when there are some brands that will reach out to me.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I haven’t partnered with a lot of brands YET but I always admire the brands that accepts criticism on their product and not force people to write about it on their platform.
