Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Nicole San Miguel @nicolesnmgl

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a full-time blogger based in the Philippines. My blog www.nicolesanmiguel.com features my personal style, product reviews, travel destinations, events, and other trends. I also do freelance work in Writing and Digital Marketing. I love traveling as much as I love dressing up. I also love taking photos because I believed that memories shouldn’t be forgotten.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I started writing about my life, mostly Beauty and Fashion related in the year 2012. In the latter part of my career, I expanded my content to other varieties like food, lifestyle, and travel. On my Instagram account, I always share my travel photos, OOTDs, and my daily adventures and misadventures.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram username is @nicolesnmgl. It’s just my first name and the consonants of my last name. I want to make it simple and easy to remember.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use Snapseed and VSCO on most of my photos. First, I adjust the exposure depending on the brightness of the photo, followed by the sharpness, and I crop it if necessary. After enhancing the photo on Snapseed, I edit it on VSCO to add filters. I don’t usually overdo the filter to keep the original color of the photo. This is what I do when I use my phone to take photos. When I take photos from my camera, I just add a bit of filter or upload them directly on my social media channels.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I like the feed of @on_do__, a Korean YouTuber. She posts really nice photos! I also love @angelydub and @photoallison because they always share their travel photos on Instagram. Whenever I see their posts, I get inspired and motivated to work hard.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

It’s when my readers and followers send me an inspiring message. It’s really flattering when they reply to my stories and sends me a DM.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

StarNgage makes us connect with brands related to our niche. I just joined StarNgage so I didn’t have the chance to complete any campaigns yet. However, I joined some of the campaigns as they fit my interests, including clothing and beauty products.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Brands should have a clear direction and guidelines for us influencers to be creative. They must choose influencers that reflect their brand. I maintain authenticity by endorsing products I genuinely love and trust!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be creative and true to yourself. Improve the quality of your content and make it more interesting.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I love building relationships across the globe! Getting to know their products and becoming the face of them is a big thing. I love it when their philosophy really reflects my own!
