Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Nicole Ariel @Acidic_velvetcrocus

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a psychology undergrad student in JCU. I’m Singaporean but studied in an international school from secondary 3 onwards.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Fashion, beauty and lifestyle. I also post lots of content from photoshoots.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name broken down just mean acidic velvet flower(crocus). I decided on it during a literature class in grade 9, it means that I can be pleasant but if you mess with me I will hurt you.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I usually would only use VSCO A8 filter and adjust contrast, saturation, highlight save and add a slight blue tint. If my photo isn’t white enough I will use FaceTune to whiten.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Andrea Russett and Suede Brooke! I love their fashion and makeup styles.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

I realized that many instagrammers like to chase fame recently so my advice is to stop chasing the fame and instead chase experiences and adventures. Life would be so much more fun.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Product/service reviewing! I love trying out new products/services to share with my followers.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think that brands should state clearly in a the campaign that you want the influencer to state their HONEST and TRUE opinion. This would help the brand as well in improving rather than just talking their brand up and disappointing people if it isn’t up to their standards.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

You don’t need a $3000 Dslr to take quality photos. All you need is a smartphone, and some time to think of your concept.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I enjoy collaborating with new people and trying new products.
