Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: MyFavTravels @MyFavTravels

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I do location scouting for TV and film production companies, finding the best locations all over the world for them. I am based in Norway, but I travel all over the world to check out new and exiting locations.

When I am not location scouting, I work with strategies and communications on digital platforms and social media.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My Instagram account is all about travel. I try to capture the details that defines the atmosphere wherever I go, as this is important for the producers and directors when they choose a location for their film, music video or TV series. I also want to show the best things to do and see on the different locations, and inspire people to travel more!

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It is short for My Favorite Travels – I wanted to share my favorite locations and adventures

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Actually one of my goals is to take photos that needs none or just very little editing – but since I also insist on taking all my photos with my smartphone, it usually means I have to take a lot of pictures to capture exactly the feeling or emotion I want. I’ve been known to take more than 1500 photos on a 3 day scouting trip….

But when I do edit, I use either Photoshop or the editing options or filters in Instagram itself.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Some of my favourites are @amazingdreamypics, @earthpix and @natgeotravel. I absolutely love their posts.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Spending more time writing good captions. Sounds boring, I know… but the posts that stick with me the most are the ones where the caption really adds to the photo and gives it another dimension.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

That I might inspire someone to travel more and experience things they might not have done if they hadn’t seen my photos. I know that the things I experience on my travels contribute to my understanding of the world and gives me a broader perspective on life. And it makes me happier 🙂

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Stay true to your brand in everything you post, but make sure that you always have your audience interests in mind when planning a campaign. If you focus on creating content that is about them and not about you, you are on the right track.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is everything. Would you like to get your feed flooded with poor photos? Didn’t think so.

And original content trumps curated content. Always.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I like the challenge of finding the right things to post, the things that are equally authentic for both the brand and for MyFavTravels. I always make sure that the brands I partner with are brands that will benefit from getting highlighted in a setting that is interesting and valuable for my followers.
