1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?
I was born in Venezuela but I’ve lived in the States, and now in Manchester, UK. I’m an architect with a passion for cooking, eating, and sharing my food! I love experimenting and finding (either around the city or the aisles of the supermarket) new things that captivate me, which is how my whole "foodventures" series game up. Even when it’s hard to share my fries or dessert, I do believe that meals taste better when you share them with others 😉
2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?
I post about food! The food I eat, like, and even sometimes cook!
3) How did your Instagram name come about?
Pretty simple: my name is Michelle, and I really love to eat! 😉
4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!
I’d take my photos with my iPhone 7, and then go on to VSCO to start with one of their filters as a base. Then I’ll tweak the contrast, brightness, temperature, and balance, depending on the photo. My main objective is making the textures in the food/photo pop up!
5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?
it might sound weird, but I found my inspiration in fashion/lifestyle bloggers and accounts. Capturedthemoments_, unatalluisa and nanysklozet are my favorites!
6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?
Just try to express yourself through your pics, and let yourself go every once in a while! Sometimes we get too caught up on schedules, cohesive feeds and "how things are supposed to look", and I’ve learned that experimenting with different things and following my gut sometimes gives me even better results than my whole social media plan does hahaha
7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?
I love getting the chance to try many different restaurants and having an excuse to walk around the city looking for hidden gems! Having that connection with other people that enjoy food as much as I do is also a big plus.
8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?
I’ll say try to go for quality over quantity, specially when it comes to finding the best influencer for your campaign. Sometimes brands try to find the person with more followers without taking into consideration if that specific influencer really could represent your brand in the best way possible. Trying to find someone whose style aligns with what you want people to see in your brand makes it easier and more authentic! It makes no sense if the influencer needs to fake it for the insta!
9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?
I believe good content is key to success, and that’s what’s going to get you recognized by your audience. I do prefer three quality photos over 10 (on the same period of time) if that means focusing on getting the best three pictures to portray your experience.
10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?
The possibility of finding new things I enjoy and sharing that with my audience!
