Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Melvin Ong @Melvinoyx

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Currently serving the army, completing in 4 months. Used to study banking and financial services in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I intend to puruse my education next year in SIM University of London. Strong interest in Korean culture and language, so I have been learning since my
Polytechnic days.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I usually post pictures on outfits, flatlays and cafès. I have a lot of interest in style, fashion and design; despite not majoring in it.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

An abbreviation for my surname and chinese name was added at the end of my first name.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I use an extensive of apps : lightroom, facetune , darkroom , snapseed.

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

Able to share inspiration to others as I have always been inspired by creativity and stories on Instagram. Being it myself allows me to become a bigger person my creating the content and sharing it to others which possibly inspires them.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It is important to make the readers ‘feel like running’ , in order to do so, the pictorials must potray a cool and effortless outfit yet it entices the viewers to feel like donning that outfit on to go for a run.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Quality is important in the social media scene, people that visit your page will be more likely to follow you if your content are of good quality, so using a professional camera when shooting shots that requires clarity is imperative. Also, your account must maintain a theme to it, it will be aesthetically pleasing and draws people who favour the same.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

If i really feel good about a product, partnering with them will actually be beneficial to my friends as I am recommending amazing studf to them on social media!
