Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Melissa Meyer @ig_melmeyer

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I am currently working as an administrative assistant at Momentum. I am a free spirit and would like to experience a field where I can be creative and try new things. I am a hardworking lady with a high confidence level.
I reside in Stellenbosch, Cape Town. I’ve lived here for 20 Years. I am 25 years old.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

I mostly post pictures of myself and lifestyle. I also love tagging brands to give businesses exposure. ( I only tag if I wear their brands).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My Instagram name was a mixture of my name and surname. My friends call me Mel.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I normally only use the VSCO app. I do not always edit my pictures because when I do a professional shoot my photographer normally does that for me. I do use UNUM. This app helps organize your posts. You can prepare what you are going to post for the next week for example.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I really love @rickeythompson. He inspires me so much because he is so unbothered about people’s opinion.
I also admire @nadiajafta. She achieved so much and became very successful through her Instagram.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I normally won’t call myself an influencer, but I do like inspiring others to be confident. I normally post fashion (my outfits). I want everyone to know that confidence is designer. You can wear Prada and then look like Nada if you don’t wear it with confidence.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

I have applied for the Mens Health Clinic campaign. I would love to join more campaigns.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I am different. I love doing things outside of the norm.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Be authentic. You can follow trends but create your own trend.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

Giving them that exposure and learning more about their brand. I just love working with others.
