Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Melissa Madeleine Ng @melissangg

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

Currently, I am a student in SIM Global Education pursuing Banking and Finance. I am from Singapore and exploring to become an influencer. It used to be my dream and hopefully go into the youtube scene if I do succeed.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

On my stories I mostly post about food, interesting desserts I find and sometimes give my verdict on how it taste. I also like to share about places I go to and interesting things when I see or participate in. I also like to share stories of hotels that I have stayed in and inspire people.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

My instagram name was made when I was in secondary school and was not changed ever since. It is my first name and surname combined with an additional g at the back to make it more unique.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I do not edit my photos as I believe in being true to myself and being real. The only editing I ever did was when I was younger but it was only to the saturation of my photo. Now, I do not edit anymore. I would only ever edit something that could be changed like for example if my dress was crumpled I would erase the crease out using retouch app. I used to use VSCO when I was younger.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Instagrammers that inspire me is Naomi Neo, Sarah Jane Betts, Jess Conte, Gabriel Conte and Tiffany Ma. I think the person that inspires me the most is Tiffany Ma. She is young yet she has a lot of aspirations and started investing at a young age. She invests in cryptocurrency, properties and F&Bs. I aspire to be as successful and smart as her. She plans her future out well and knows what she is doing.

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I think the favourite part is being able to influence others in a good way. I believe in being true to myself and promoting brands that I use and are of good quality. I think being able to change the world even in a small way makes me happy.

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

I think StarNgage would help me to reach brands that are looking for influencers and social media presence. I am looking to help them out and shed a light on others. It is my first time using StarNgage so I have joined any campaigns yet.

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I think as I mentioned is just to stay true to yourself and promote only if you believe in it.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think the importance of staying true to who you are is very important and not to plagiarise others because we are all unique and entitled to our own opinions. We should only be ourselves and not try to be someone we are not. It is okay to look up to others but not mimic others in ways we are not.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I think is being able to help the brands I like and believe in get more sales and become successful. It is something that I would like to do, influence others to try different brands that would work for them.
