Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Melanie Robinot @bonappeteat

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

My name is Melanie and I’m the Frenchie behind Bon Appet’Eat. I intend Inspiring you to create tasty weeknight
meals seasoned with a French flare. Married to a Cuban with 2 Canadian children, I have studied 3 languages that perfectly fit my trilingual life.
We live in Toronto, Canada and my real life job has nothing to do with my passion for food and photography, so this is a perfect creative outlet for me!

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Cooking and Baking! My recipes mostly! I’m obsessed with Photography! I love to share my delicious cakes (not always on my blog) and engage with my followers about what they like.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

It’s the same than my blog. It’s a pun and as a French native I’m pretty proud of it!

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I edit mostly on Lightroom desktop. Sometimes on Photoshop, an example of Photoshop editing is my instagram serie #cookyourfrench. In this serie, I created montages for idiomatic French expression related to food!
I sometimes edit on my phone and I would then use Lightroom or Snapseed.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Tough one. So many talented people out there. I LOVE Jillian Harris (who doesn’t really) she is real and so inspiring! Her insta stories are a definite on a daily basis! Jenica Parcell (asliceofstyle) because she is always smiling, it’s refreshing. Baking wise, I really like Matt Adlard (@mattadlard) and Christelle Huet (@iletaitunefoislapatisserie) because they are self-learners. It is SO inspiring!

6) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I don’t really consider myself an influencer BUT if I influence my followers to get back in the kitchen and cook dinner on a weekday, that warms my heart soooo much! I love receiving pictures from followers who baked or cooked my recipe!
You want to influence the positive and inspire people! That’s my best part of sharing publicly (rather than saying I’m an influencer)!

7) What’s your favorite part about StarNgage? Any exciting campaigns that you have joined through StarNgage before?

N/A for now, hope to be able to answer that one soon 🙂

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

It needs to fit who you are and YOUR brand. I will be part of a campaign for pre-prepared food, why me? Because we all have crazy nights, lazy nights or this-was-not-planned nights and it feels good to not have to worry about dinner. It’s real life! We do eat well and make sure we exercice, but we also are humans and we have to stop beating ourselves up for everything!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Stay yourself. If the brand is not a match and you don’t believe in it, it will show. You need to love it and it will look natural, therefore the brand will love you too!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

The opportunity to meet new people that are passionate about the same things. I can’t have geeky SEO conversation with my hubby lol! Also, not everyone understand why you would have 100 pictures of the same dish! You get to share something different with this kind of crowd!
