Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lincoln Lease @blacklabelmag

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I’m a photographer from Portland, OR. I exclusively shoot boudoir and glamour nudes; in focusing only on one area of photography I strive to be a master of one instead of a jack of all trades, master of none. I share and sell my content through Black Label Magazine.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

As boudoir is my stock in trade, I have a love for lingerie. Instagram has actually been great in opening the door to collaborating with some of the top lingerie brands in the world!
I enjoy edgy photography and themes…testing the limits while still keeping it classy and tasteful. Though most of what goes on my Instagram is "tame" you will occasionally see something a little more risque (though unfortunately censored due to having to follow the rules).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

"Black Label" was chosen because of my name…try Googling "Lincoln Lease"and see what comes up! Black Label was chosen because it evokes a sense of exclusivity and luxury, two elements that are a very big part of my brand and photography editorials.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

I only use Lightroom and Photoshop. I leave filters for cell phone selfies. I use frequency separation and dodge and burn, sometimes followed up with an action for color toning. It takes me between 30 & 60 minutes to edit one photo.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

I love following lingerie brands first and foremost–finding out about the newest designs, up and coming brands, and seeing the most erotic looking sets that could potentially end up in Black Label Magazine. I also follow models, and Instagram has put me in contact with some great talent!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I like providing fans with beautiful photography of gorgeous women in stunning lingerie. The beauty of woman and the idea of sensuality is an important thing to consume visually. Myself, when I look at a a great photograph of a beautiful woman, a certain sense of peace coupled with a sense of awe and wonder comes over me. I am glad to be able to provide that to others as well!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

Keeping in mind that somebody else has probably thought up the same thing that you’re thinking makes you work harder to come up with something fresh. And once you’ve dreamed it up and started your execution, don’t relent. It takes time to get traction in todays oversaturated market!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Your content is a part of your brand, and so you must tailor your content to fit your brand. Think of each piece of content you create as an ambassador to your brand. Create content that you want to represent you and your brand!

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I enjoy meeting and communicating with new people, understanding their processes, and making friends along the way. One of my favoring examples of this is working with Britta Uschkamp (@brittauschkamp) for our editorial "Ribbon Play." We met Britta in Paris to discuss the second stage of the editorial, but it turned into an awesome evening trekking through Montmarte, which also happens to be one of Britta’s running routes. It was an awesome time filled with great conversation about far more than lingerie and photography. This is another reason I do what I do: to travel the world and meet amazing people!
