Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lim Aileen @ailove2eat

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

A local foodie who enjoys capturing the taste of Singapore in a photo. I am currently pursuing a degree and doing freelancing for MissTamChiak

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

Food, whether it’s homecooked or from various parts of Singapore.

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

AiLove2Eat, sounds the same as “I love to eat” except that “I” is replaced with a portion of my name, Aileen.

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Lightroom would definitely be my favourite, as it has features that allows am orangey photo to be more bluey, or to enhance the clarity of it. At times when I get lazy, I’m glad Instagram has its own editor too.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

Klzw is one of my favourite instagrammer as his photos are so minimalistic and monochromatic.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Try to latergram photos of food meal times; enjoy the meal with your family and friends!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

I would not say that I’m an influencer as of now; but I feel that being able to share honest food reviews allow others to aware of the really MUST-TRY food, and to avoid those that aren’t worth their time and money. On the other hand, it’s also a platform to praise/encourage eateries to improve on their food quality

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I don’t run brands so I can’t answer this question.

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

Having read and trusted some reviews, it dawned on me that some of these reviews were too “polished” that the food didn’t actually taste as good as it was written. Being a victim of such reviews, I wouldn’t want my followers to suffer the same fate. It is easy reviewing good food, but the bad ones should not be polished and it is important to know specifically why it is bad. Nonetheless, the taste and preference for food is different for everyone, so disclaimer is needed.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I don’t really partner with brands; I just eat and snap on my own.
