Instagram Influencer Spotlight On: Lauren Davis @foodiefollowings

1) Tell us a little about yourself. What are you doing now and where do you come from?

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL where I currently live. I graduated from Miami University and am currently a full time financial services consultant. I genuinely enjoy travel, food, fashion, and sports.

2) What are your topics of interest? What do you post on Instagram the most?

My instagram revolves around my love for food and for trying new places. All of my instagrams have been tasted by me (& some even cooked by me!).

3) How did your Instagram name come about?

I love to try new restaurants and aim to try at least 1-3 new restaurants each week. The name from my instagram came from my friends constantly calling me a foodie for my hobby of trying new restaurants and spots. One day I decided I should be documenting all of the amazing restaurants and foods I have tried across the country so that people can follow my must-eat spots in cities across the U.S. So from that I created foodiefollowings

4) What are some apps you use to edit your photos? Share with us your photo-editing routine!

Some of my pictures are al-natural and others are edited on the instagram app or using the Photo Editor- app.

5) Any Instagrammers whom you really like? Which Instagrammer inspires you the most?

@satisfeed and @foodintheair inspired my instagram. I love how satisfeed incorporates her daily life and health routine into her account as well as food. Foodintheair inspires me because the picture quality of the food and backgrounds are always top-notch.

6) If there’s one thing your fellow Instagrammers just gotta try now, what’s it gonna be?

Chicago Pizza and Over Grinder -hands down!

7) What’s your favorite part about being an influencer?

My favorite part is when people come back to me after using my instagram as a recommendation for a place to eat and tell me how much they enjoyed it!

8) What are some of your top tips to brands for running campaigns? How do you maintain authenticity?

I only post foods I’ve eaten and liked. If I’ve been back multiple times or tried more than one thing I have no problem posting items separately to promote the brand multiple times. Social media has a such a huge impact on restaurants and consumers choices these days. I personally even find some of my places to try from other instagram accounts!

9) What would your advice be on the importance of quality and original content?

I think it’s important to only post things I have tried myself or have experienced. I don’t want to post a picture of someone else’s food or a place they’ve been because I don’t know that I would have the same opinion of it. This is also why I keep my editing to a minimum. I want consumers to get a realistic image of what food they will be experiencing.

10) What do you like best about partnering with brands?

I think partnering with brands makes it fun for both of us! I get to try something new and also promote something I love (hopefully! haha) and they get to spread the word about their brand for cheap! It’s a win-win.
